Green Baetis Comparadun #16

Hook: TMC 100BL #16
Thread: Sheer 14/0 Green
Tail: Mayfly Tails White
Body: Taimen Beaver Dubbing Green
Wing: Wapsi Premo Deer Natural

The Baetis Comparadun is a great pattern for mayflies that sits deep in the film with a upright wing that leaves a good footprint in the film. With only 3 materials this is a easy fly to tie once you get the upright deer wing to stand correctly (this can take a couple of tries). Vary this with more or less (and different angles on the fan-out of the wing) to make it sit in different positions)

unfortunately in the world we live in these points of views smlpiy wont work. Recreational not comercial hunting is an essential conservational tool. Because of this deer numbers in many areas in the east are higher than they were when Europeans first arrived thanks to funds raised from hunting license sails and taxes. Also If you belief that hunters are cruel to animals how about all the elk that starved to death near my home in washington from overpopulation due to no hunting or the animals that are torn apart alive by the overpopulation of wolves in the west, you cant tell me thats more humane than a quick kill from a gunshot
