Found this interesting 3-wing emerger pattern on facebook and thought I would have a go at it. The original image was not particularly detailed, so I winged it in terms of execution. Since this was the first attempt some of the details came out a bit wrong, but I like the overall idea behind this one.

The top view: there is a lot of deer hair in this one, it should float very good

Trout view: I really like the profile from underneath

Side view: the raised wings will make this fly sit low in the water

Three variations of the peacock & flash midge, but this time with a white body, a green flash and different colors on the body ribbing.

A peacock midge rocking some flash over the body and the thorax. A very simple pattern to tie up that should attract the trout, the only thing I could add to this is a layer of bug bond on the body.

Sunray Solstice

Since it was Winter solstice yesterday: a yellow sunray shadow that I’ve named Sunray Solstice

I used UNI Floss for the body color on the tube, I don’t have a good enough adapter/needle so the tube gets deformed when I tie on the plastic: something for christmas maybe?
