First tube since early summer! This is a willie gun variant that I picked up on youtube. Tried to dress it lightly and not overdo the hackle and wing, this needs to be tied up in different sizes and some on heavy tubes before the summer!

Olive Wooly Bugger on tube
I haven’t tied any wooly buggers on tube before, but I needed some extra large ones, so I got a little batch ready, just in case I need them a rainy day and the trout is deep and not feeding in the surface.

As I’ve noted before: I try to tie up a pattern in different colors, or, as in this case: different types to see how they come together. Today it was a repetition of the comet from the other day. I really like this pattern and the double will see some smaller variants down to #12 for trout.

I started out with a single red-tag to try out some new silver fox I got the other day, but I ended up with six different UNI-Floss colors. This is a very simple tube, but the red-tag can be extremely efficient when it comes to trout (and salmon). The wing was made very slim to create a long and slim profile in the water.
